Ok....I simply love macaroni and cheese.  If it is on the menu, I order it.  So far, in Austin, this is my vote for the all time best restaurant served mac-n-cheese.

My husband is going NUTS....he called himself BOB???

the best part was when he denied it...i had PROOF!

Confessions of a Desperate Housewife

I have just spent the last 52 minutes doing my weekly favorite house chore. Except today I am thoroughly disgusted by it. Carpet is simply FOUL. I mean EEEEWWWWW. And what is the useful life of a vacuum cleaner anyway. Yes I have 3 dogs. And a GOOD -at least I thought it was good Kenmore vacuum cleaner.
I loved you when I first bought you....but soon despite my emptying the container EVERY room and cleaning the filters each time I vacuum....you soon gave way to the YUCK that lives in my carpet. And, it isn't JUST DOG HAIR. I mean where did this ash like dust come from? (The photo is not mine...I thieved it off the web....just ad 3x the amount of short dog hair and you have the DOWNSTAIRS weekly accumulation of my vacuum cleaner. Oh and the spin of the canister molds it in to this egg shaped orb of dustydoghairmuck-- yum huh).

PAUSE: By now you are thinking we a dirty filthy folks. Ah, no- I married MR. Clean and Tidy... and our house is always spotless and clean. I simply think, under the carpet, is a foundation of dirt and ash. Our dogs are inside dogs and are bathed almost every few weeks.

I have decided that tile is disgusting too. Mostly because of the grout. No matter how clean the tile is..the grout gets nasty too. I do not want nasty floors. I have decided that hardwood floors through out the ENTIRE house...yes in the bathrooms are the ONLY way for me to go. Ah the once daily vacuum with the floor attachment to scoop up NORMAL DUST...warm sold floors that I can accessorize with a once-it-gets-nasty-chunk-it-and-get-a-new-one textile.

oh yeah....video baby.

ok so my friend Antonia from work did one of these videos with her daughter and posted it on facebook...said it was the BEST time with her daughter laughing. So I suggested it to Will and Samantha. Will, being 16 next week, was initially too cool...and Samantha was SO in. She actually showed up today after the weekend at her mom's asking to do this video TONIGHT! And so.....3 takes later, here is out goofy country video. We aren't very talented...but we did have a blast...even Will had to get in and participate. I cherish the fun we had working on this silly project and the laughs it brings as we watch our music video. As will says, GOOD TIMES!

my long tail in blogging is a squirrel tale? what the...

apparently I have a "long tail" in the blog world on this blog. and of all things...it is a squirrel tale. I know this personal blog doesn't attract a wide range of readers...mostly my family and a few friends. However, I crack up every time I look at my reporting of how readers or at least clickers get to this caw of mine.....and most often someone has searched SQUIRREL BITES.

Yes folks, the Crow's Caw is the #8 result on Google for the search term "SQUIRREL BITES."

I'm so glad that despite my frequent rants, my thoughts about life, my gratitude lists, and even my real estate musings.......well....squirrel bites.....that is almost as bad as the STORY behind said squirrel bites.

I'm glad, as far as blogging goes to have a "LONG TAIL" but how in the heck did it end up a SQUIRREL TALE?

Bill's Version of Hanging Christmas ligths

Bill sent this to me this morning....saying this would be his idea of perfectly hung christmas lights:

Tales from the Classroom, and partly why I no longer am a schoolteacher

I taught elementary and jr. high school for 5 years. The first year as a kindergarten teacher was AMAZING....I remember laughing and smiling all the time that year....all the hilarious stories. LOVED every second of it. And that was the end of the teaching honeymoon.

I did end up marrying a school teacher and so the stories continue. He has been teaching almost 24 years. Here are two Bill experienced in the last 2 weeks...both FIRSTS:

A boy, who will remain anonymous, was in my room this morning
opening up a small plastic wrapped item. I heard from the corner of the
room, as he looked at his item is a confused manner, "EWWW, a tampon!"
Apparently, he found a tampon on the ground and thought it was some sort of
candy. Soooo, he picked it up to eat in my class. Yes...I have tampon
eaters in my class. When he realized what it was, he ran up to me with
the most awful look on his face and put said pon on my desk! I told
him that I didn't want his tampon and asked him to please throw it in the
trash.

Then I gave him some Purell, just because
...
I could not stop laughing!

*****************************************

A girl just threw up on my desk. My "work station" is sporting a nice shiny gloss and a few chuncklets as well.
I am going to vomit...

the story behind squirrel bites

Looking over my Google Analytics report, I have found that a number of visitors to this blog have come from searches on Google for " squirrel bites."

Of course it is beacuse of this old post: http://allisoncrow.blogspot.com/2006/03/squirrel-bites.html

At my Austin house, I often had intermittent TV and Internet service. After a few visits from time warner cable the cause of my problem was communicated by a service technician wearing double denim, a hard hat and a tool belt -- mouth full of CHAW:

Tech: "Ma'am. I thank I know yer problem. I been all up and down that there pole and the problem is. . . .you got squirrel bites."

Me: "I'm sorry, did you say squirrel bites?"

Tech: "Yep. Ya got squirrel bites." Long pause.

End of story. Enough said. Have you ever been diagnosed with squirrel bites? I still think that is hilarious.

Note: I have not actually been bitten by a squirrel. They are like rats in my book. My cable wires were apparently gnawed on by the little varmints and that can lead to intermittent Internet connection. Beware: Squirrel bites can be a detriment to technology.
