just sayin'.....

...infinite.....INFINITE love and gratitude........

01 June 2010

my heaven these days

I've been doodling so much lately, I haven't been writing.  I've been reading and thinking so much, I haven't been writing.  Have you ever had a rebirth or rediscovery of a gift in you...that at one time you thought was lost? Last year during a turbulent time I picked up my markers again.  And so it began...again. Now i find my self holding 4-5 markes or pens in my hands at all time. I've got pads of paper in all sizes EVERYWhere.

I'm inspired to go through old things and pull out this history of the visual thinker in me....and watch the rest of the story unfold.  The coolest part is, I know there is a Future...with a capital F in this story.

I've had all these crazy cool teachers show up in my life....
i just met Bryon Katie last week!
MAPS BOLD program has supported me financially and emotionally over the last year.
Lee Mannix taught me so much in his death and I find myself beginning to really become a bit more comfortable with who I am.  I'm shedding some layers and getting comfortable in the layers that are really me.
Courtney Crow Wyrtzen teaches me all the time....and did especially in this editorial about moms.
Dr. Wayne W. Dwyer (listening to the power of intention on itunes)
Oh...and all the beloved books by my bedside....(thanks nikki for sharing the Renard book).

At this moment....I'm in heaven in my life....and I'm thankful.

I wanna be like Lee Mannix

Shit.... Lee Mannix..did you really have to die this week? I keep seeing your smile...and hearing the straight talk things you've said to me, and to hundreds of other folks.  I read the posts of your friends and clients and I realized another of the many reasons you are so loved.
I have dog stories...you have worked with all three of my mutts...and they are no different from the thousands posted here on the Lee Mannix Center for Canine Behavior fan page. No need to write about them... Talking to Kimberly Burgan, whom we both loved...who you LOVED SO WELL......it hit me as to EXACTLY what it is that endeared you to us all.
You chose to be fully yourself....your unfiltered, smart ass, funny as hell, sly, prankster, laughing, crass,  boot-wearing-beer-drinking-copenhagen-dippin, smiling & magic with us all, self.  We love you so much...because you were able to do what the rest of us struggle with. You chose to live life exactly as you were....for the authenticity of it...and not the popularity.  Yet...you gained popularity and even more.  You earned massive love and respect...and a heart in the homes of thousands of dog- loving families. We love you so much, for not just what you did...but for who you were...because in our own little way..we long to be as brave as you were...and live this life TRULY being ourselves... exactly the way you did.

I choose today, to be more of my true self...to be brave and live fully me...because you inspired me to do that. And...I will do it in my cowgirl boots more often!

Love,
Allison....and Hank (the dope)...and Daisy (the freak)...and Lulu (the little bitch)
I'll be at your party tomorrow...and I will wear my boots...and celebrate your fine ass and your magic spirit!

Facebook murdered the writer in me

....but I am going to resurrect her. It is ridiculous how much time I waste on FB....but it isn't really the time. It is the creative energy that gets sucked out of me. I have these amazing thoughts worth writing down. I'm grateful for coaching sessions with my clients because it is a great outlet....yet...of course I don't give it credit unless pen has hit paper...or at least a san serif font has hit the blank screen.

so MORE writing to come...will be starting slow and small and most likely...insignificant...and yet..it is a start.

Let me introduce you to my new best friend

This post is probably a little airy-fairy for some of you....so warning. I am pretty airy fairy sometimes and this is my blog. That being said, let me introduce you to my new best friend.

I was recently introduced to my angel-ness and her purpose for my life. I'm grateful for the introduction and for the many messages she has been giving me since I met her. Today was the day I first drew her and put her to a visual symbol. She is the very best version of myself. The one God created me to be. She is here to remind me that I brave and strong and the words on her spirit tail are just some of the qualities that I know I have and am growing every day.
Here are a few of the other messages she has helped me uncover:

  • Watch out for downplaying who you are
  • Leave the small shit behind
  • Validation comes from the SPIRIT, not from the world.
  • You have an infinite capacity to grow and love and evolve
  • You are an artist--always have been.
  • You are able to trust completely...those wings are strong and will guard my heart when needed.
  • Life is meant to be enjoyed abundantly...this abundance is for all of us...including you, Allison
  • Laugh
  • Don't take life so seriously
  • God takes care of the birds doesn't he? and they are just birds...
  • Delight in the people you love
  • Just be. Just be has been your motto for a long long time...bring it back...and be all that you want to be. Be love-don't DO love...just be.

I guess I share...because I'd love for YOU to have the gift of hearing what your angel-ness has to say for you? How can he/she/it contribute to your spirit...and then your life?

To the one who introduced me to my angel-ness, I am grateful for your contribution to my life..I look forward to speaking again soon...and learning more.

Birds and Worrying

I've been worrying a bunch lately. After stepping out of a crazy lucrative job and health benefits...I chose a different path. I'm still coaching...and I re-started my business with MAPS. I've also stepped back in to my real estate sales business. I pulled the stability out from under my family a bit and they have been gracious as I build it back up. I've got two houses on the market- one under contract-negotiations-repairs-more negotiations...blah blah blah blah ulcer blah. Kids becoming teenagers, friends with cancer, insurance bills, clients dropping, unsure about the next path to take, a million problems to solve, and more blah blah blah blah...WE all have the crap to deal with. Overwhelmed one day a few weeks ago...I went out to the hammock and as soon as my head hit the pillow a bird flew right over my head....and INSTANTLY....this came to mind:

"Look at the birds in the sky. They don't plant or harvest or gather food into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. You are more valuable than they are, aren't you? Can any of you add a single hour to the length of your life by worrying? And why do you worry about clothes? Consider the lilies in the field and how they grow. They don't work or spin yarn, but I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them. Now if that is the way God clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and thrown into an oven tomorrow, won't he clothe you much better-you who have little faith? So don't ever worry by saying, 'What are we going to eat?' or 'What are we going to drink?' or 'What are we going to wear." Everyone is concerned about these things, and your heavenly Father certainly knows you need all of them. But let your first care be for his kingdom and his righteousness; and all these other things will be given to you in addition." -Matthew 6:27-33

Ways to Handle the Muck

What do you do when you really couldn't care less to do anything at all--
I'm writing from my hammock and my heart today and know that I am not the only one out there stuck in the muck from time to time. I pulled my computer away from my work desk, because really no work was getting done. A change of scenery and humidity and here I am on the hammock in the back yard. Not the most comfortable place to write...nap yes, laptop no.

As a coach, I'm used to supporting others who are in the muck and helping them create and implement a plan for getting through and out of it and on to a better place in life, work, etc. I know what the great thinkers and motivators and nlp practitioners say. I know what therapists would say, and what spiritual writers, doctors, and even scriptures say. I know many of the traditional and non traditional "prescriptions" for this kind of state.

As a human being, I'm vulnerable to the nothingness of a grey day, to the frustration of procrastination, to getting easily off track and to the deviation of the dreams that normally propel me in to action. Just as often as I give my help and coaching, I need it too.

Havi Brooks, of the Fluent Self discusess 3 of these traditional perscriptions in a blog post called Destuckification 101. At the end she talks about anotherway of "going deeper in to destuckification" that for today works for me and so I wanted to share what she talks about in her blog....she talks about:

About having a conscious, active, intentional relationship with yourself. About what happens when you’re allowed to drop all the shoulds.

Including the ones that say you should be able to push through it. And the ones that say you should be able to sit with it. And the ones that say you should be more grateful.

So that you can give yourself permission to not have to be there yet.

So that you can find out what you need right now. And find ways to give it to yourself. Or at least get better at being eventually ready to receive it.

Interesting I have so much in my mind in the way of all these methods for getting out of this muck. What about being attentive to the muck and what it is saying? It is uncomfortable for me to be in this state...and I'm reminded of the saying....get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Yesterday, my muck terrified me. Today I'm able to be slightly more comfortable with it. I'm finding kindess for myself along the way and staying in that kindess. Cool thing is, I know by tomorrow, that kindess will have filled me up and I'll be ready again, to pour out to those around me.

What do you do when you are stuck in the muck?

And thanks Havi Brooks, for writing in the "REAL"

Drawing my affirmations this week!

Why you ask? Because it simply is more fun. More emotional and more creative. And because it takes more time and thought. The more time and thought we put in to what we D0 want, the better! I AM, I ALLOW, I HAVE and I hope you do too!

Rock your day, have fun in whatever you do and share that energy with every soul you contact today!

it is just what I do.....explained for today.

There is a question I have asked many clients: “If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you do?”

The answer is scary and fabulous all at the same time for many of us.  Our thoughts and beliefs and “everydays” are made up of so many pieces.  So many voices and influences, it is often hard to listen to the quiet dreams of our hearts.  I know the quiet dreams of my heart, as I am always engaging them and nurturing them.

It takes a silly girl to lie about the dreams she has. (210)

Recently, a moment of past pent up hurt flashed that dream as a better alternative than what that present moment was offering me.  In a sensitive moment of feeling completely misunderstood (one of trigger spots I’m working on healing), my reaction was to remove myself from the pain and move toward the pleasure of the dream instantly and without regard for a community I not only belong to but actually, love.  Even if the end choice is good, we still have to remember that there is a path to that choice…..and spur of the moment choices can be dangerous for the surrounding hearts.  Personal and professional collateral damage.

Question: Is it selfish to --AT TIMES--protect my own heart and values from the damage? I think not.  A team is only as strong as the weakest link, they say, I’ve come to believe that being my BEST self helps not only me personally, also all those I come in contact with and those whom I am in relationship with.  I spent up to about age 24 NOT taking care of my body, my mind, my heart, my spirit.  That certainly didn’t work.  Is it really possible to put others first and protect yourself?  Aren’t adults capable of taking care of themselves? When does looking out for everyone else steal from one’s own soul?

It is about being true to self. It is about not tolerating a cancer in an otherwise healthy body of this being. Even more than that, it really is about being free to be ALL that I’m am capable and destined to be. It is about expanding my wings and soaring. As a master soul coach, Nigel, spoke with me in February--it is about what is in my heart.

In my heart, I help millions find a deep love for themselves –exactly for who they are—and I help them use that love to become all that they were meant to be for blessing their businesses, for blessing their families, for realizing their dreams, for honoring their spirits—and maybe—for the blessing the world.

It’s just what I do.

Oh and, It’s not about the money.

I've been warned not to read this unless I want to quit my job

well, I don't want to quit my work....but I am curious about the book...and so I read on.

The 4 Hour Work Week
by Timothy Feriss: pp. 32
"Alternative periods of activity and rest is necessary to survive, let alone thrive. Capacity, interest, and mental endurance all wax and wane. Plan accordingly."

The heading to this mini paragraph is: " Interest & Energy are Cyclical." <-------this describes me about almost everything. Ahh...to feel known...and then to be loved past that knowing.

More to come later:

Also bought to read in the next few days or weeks or whatever....Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert and The Dip by Seth Godin. Do you sense a theme? I do and oh how I heart a theme.

I'm not fat so I hired a Coach

I'm not fat so I hired a Coach
I am not fat. I have never been fat. I come from skinny people and I am a skinny person, tall too. I am the kind of girl that women hate because I am thin. We all know the saying, "looks can be deceiving...."

But I am NOT healthy. I am in a high stress, high demand, emotionally taxing position as a coach. I work even when I am not working. I eat at my desk barely chewing between bites of whatever is easy and fast. My office is far from my home and I spend much time sitting in the car in the stressful traffic. When I get home, it is dinner with the family and then usually exhausted I head to bed early, merely from a lack of energy. Even after a full 8 hours of rest, I don't want to get up, because I'm "tired." When I do get out for fun I tire easily and have little stamina for any activity that gets my heart rate going. I have struggled with physical depression for the past 17 years. And for the last few years, I have gotten sick for at least 3 weeks straight during the weather change in the fall.

On the outside, I am a beautiful and vibrant woman, with the world at my feet....and I have been deciding for far to long to neglect my overall health, body and nutrition. I've started hundreds of times and chosen the pleasure of excuses time and time again.

I coach people for a living and as a personal passion filler. I work on my MINDSET and skills everyday. I push people to get out of their comfort zones in order go from regular to remarkable. I coach folks to recognize and eliminate and overcome limiting beliefs every day. I coach people to to build habits one day at time, that in the end will create a life time of greatness. I coach people to do what comes unnaturally so that they can have more than they ever dreamed...yet, in this ONE area I have made lousy decisions and regular excuses.

Because I believe in the power of a coach, because the rate of success is more if I have one, because even my husband, who works out regularly& eats healthy can't be responsible for this area of life, because I am determined to find the athlete in me again, because it unlikely I will do it on my own, and because I am deciding today to get help where I need it the most, I hired a fitness and nutrition coach...with the goal of making this exercise, strength and health thing a LIFESTYLE...

And I'm posting it here for my followers, and for other coaches, and for friends, and sending it to my 2 business coaches for accountability. I am committed and I need support, and health and above all affirmation...especially here in the beginning. My coach and I set the plan tomorrow night at 8:00 pm....I am on the way to being my VERY BEST self, every day! See you at the TOP!

(did I mention that I'm afraid....I felt the fear my agents feel every day....I felt it there at the table in front of my new coach...James... I feel it now...but I am willing to tell the fear to sit down and shut up....I'm on my way to the top)

mega camp is this week here in austin.

it is amazing how these conferences can re-motivate, inspire and educate me. best part is... i get to take it back to my agents and support them. i now coach agents on real estate systems and even more important-- mental mindset. i see it every week: the power of a positive mental attitude. as you think, so shall you be they say. somehow this law of attraction is true. just ask jem if money comes in the mail? in fact -ask len and eillene if money comes in the mail (their insurance company wrote and said, we've been over charging you. we are sorry and oh by the way....here is 30k.
i appreciate that i work for a company, and with people, that care about peoples lives and spirits, about their families, and their businesses.
i appreciate that i work for a company that shares its profits with me- money comes to my mail box every month and i didn't earn it..and the same is available for anyone who works with kw. want to know more... come to http://www.allisoncrow.net/KW%20Careers

pass the kool aid, please
